Golf carts

Golf carts are among the most widely used short-distance electric vehicles on golf courses, in resorts, large campuses, and residential communities. In addition to transporting golfers and their equipment between holes on golf courses, golf carts are also widely used for shuttle services for resort guests, patrols and inspections on large campuses, and short-distance travel within residential communities.

As golf carts have evolved from simple modes of transportation into multifunctional utility vehicles, users have come to expect higher levels of convenience and comfort. Linear actuators are the ideal drive components to meet this need—they convert 12V DC power into controllable linear push-pull motion to drive functions such as seat height adjustment, tilting of the cargo bed, opening and closing of storage compartment doors, and windshield angle adjustment, all without the need for complex hydraulic systems.

Our linear actuators are precision drive components specifically designed for the various automated functions of golf carts. The actuators are delivered as individual components, featuring built-in Hall sensors that integrate with the customer's vehicle control system. They feature a maintenance-free design with no hoses, pumps, or compressors. Compared to hydraulic solutions, electric actuators are easier to install, have lower maintenance costs, and are perfectly compatible with the 12V DC power supply system of golf carts.

Key features and benefits

Seat height adjustment—provides a comfortable seating position for users of all body types

Golf cart users vary in height and build, and seats with a fixed height cannot meet everyone's comfort needs. Our linear actuators enable electric adjustment of seat height—the actuators use a motor to drive the rotation of a lead screw, converting rotational motion into linear motion to raise or lower the seat around a pivot point. Users can adjust the seat to the most comfortable height based on their individual needs, effectively enhancing the driving experience.

Tilting cargo bed—effortless loading and unloading

Golf carts are often equipped with small cargo beds or tilting beds for transporting golf equipment, goods, or landscaping materials. Our linear actuators drive the tilting and reset of the cargo bed—the bed remains level during loading and tilts with the push of a button during unloading. Some heavy-duty tipper bed applications require thrusts as high as 6,000 N. Electric linear actuators replace traditional manual tipping methods, making loading and unloading easier and more efficient—particularly suitable for scenarios involving frequent loading and unloading, such as golf course maintenance and campus logistics.

Automatic opening and closing of storage compartments and hatches—enhancing accessibility

Storage compartments, battery compartments, and tool compartments on golf carts require frequent opening and closing. Our linear actuators can drive the automatic opening and closing of these compartments. Users can operate the compartments via in-cab switches without leaving the vehicle, significantly enhancing convenience in daily use.

Windshield angle adjustment—adapting to different weather conditions and speeds

When driving at low speeds, users may want the windshield fully open to enjoy the breeze, while at higher speeds or in rainy weather, they may prefer to raise the windshield for protection from wind and rain. Our linear actuators enable stepless adjustment of the windshield angle. Users can adjust the windshield to the most suitable angle based on weather conditions and driving speed.

12V low-voltage drive, perfectly compatible with golf cart power systems

Golf carts typically use 12V or 24V DC power systems. Our linear actuators can be directly connected to the vehicle's 12V or 24V power supply without the need for additional power conversion equipment. The low-voltage DC drive not only ensures safe operation but also simplifies system integration, making installation and wiring more convenient.

High protection rating, confidently handles outdoor grass course environments

Golf carts operate long-term in outdoor environments such as grass courses, sand traps, and slippery surfaces, where they are exposed to mud, moisture, and grass clippings. Our electric linear actuators feature a high protection rating, providing full resistance against moisture and dust intrusion. Constructed with corrosion-resistant materials and a sealed design, they ensure long-term, stable operation in outdoor environments.

Lightweight design that doesn't increase vehicle energy consumption

Golf carts have limited range, and every kilogram of weight affects driving distance. Our linear actuators utilize lightweight materials and a compact design to minimize their own weight while ensuring sufficient thrust and stroke. This lightweight design not only reduces the vehicle's energy consumption but also lessens the load on the suspension system.

Built-in Hall sensors enable precise customer control

Our linear actuators feature built-in Hall sensors that provide real-time feedback on stroke position and operational status via pulse signals. Based on this data, the customer's vehicle control system can precisely manage key parameters such as seat height and cargo bed tilt angle, enabling accurate closed-loop control. Whether for precise seat height adjustment or exact cargo bed tilt angles, the real-time feedback from the Hall sensors provides a reliable positional reference for every operation.

Richmat's engineers provide end-to-end technical support—from needs assessment and solution design to product delivery—ensuring that our reliable linear drive systems safeguard every swing and every moment of your journey.

Other Applications
Tanker trucks
Tanker trucks

Tanker trucks (also known as tankers or tank wagons) are essential transportation equipment used to transport liquid materials in the petroleum, chemical, and food industries, and are widely used in scenarios such as refined oil distribution, crude oil transportation, chemical raw material transportation, and edible oil transportation. During loading and unloading operations, tanker trucks require frequent operation of various valves—from the vent valve at the top of the tank to the unloading valve at the bottom, and from vapor-phase valves to liquid-phase valves. The precise opening and closing of each valve directly affects loading and unloading efficiency as well as transportation safety.

Traditional tanker truck valves are mostly manual ball valves, requiring operators to manually rotate the valve shaft to open or close them. This method is not only inefficient but also exposes personnel to hazardous environments. Our linear actuators are precision drive components specifically designed for the automated control of various valves on tanker trucks. By receiving commands from the onboard control system or a remote control platform, the actuators precisely control the valve's opening angle and closed state. The actuators feature a maintenance-free design with no hoses, pumps, or compressors. Compared to traditional manual or pneumatic solutions, electric actuators make loading and unloading operations on tanker trucks safer, more efficient, and more controllable.
